Russian Armed Forces take control of most of Krasnoarmeysk
Moscow, 24 November (Hibya) – Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), said on Russia’s Rossiya 24 TV channel that most of Krasnoarmeysk is now under the control of Russian forces.
The DPR was established in 2014 by Russia-backed forces and functioned as a separatist state until it was annexed by Russia in 2022.
Pushilin stated: “In the Krasnoarmeysk direction, in the city itself — most of which is already under the control of the Russian Armed Forces — efforts to crush the enemy continue. The enemy is trapped in a cauldron and is suffering heavy losses.”
According to him, Russian troops are attacking from another direction to more quickly liberate the Krasnoarmeysko–Dimitrovskoye grouping.
Krasnoarmeysk is an important logistical hub for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas. A significant portion of supply and reinforcement routes to Krasnoarmeysk Yar passes through Kostyantynivka. It also played a key role in supplying ammunition to Selydove. The city was a cornerstone of Ukrainian defense along the entire DPR front line.
Pushilin stated last week that Russian forces controlled more than 75% of the city.
