Russian air attack on Ukraine
Kyiv, January 28 (Hibya) – Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding ballistic missile and drone attacks carried out by Russia against the country.
The ministry stated that Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with ballistic missiles and drones, resulting in civilian deaths and targeting the country’s infrastructure.
In the Kyiv region, in the Bucha district, a drone hit an apartment building, injuring four people, including two children, and killing two others.
The statement reported that one person was killed and seven were injured in the Dnipropetrovsk region, adding: “Some areas of Kryvyi Rih were left without heating. In Zaporizhzhia, four people were injured. Residential buildings and dozens of vehicles were damaged. In the Odesa region, Russian drones struck the port and civilian infrastructure. Three people were injured. In Kyiv, a high-rise residential building was damaged. No fatalities were reported.”
It was noted that these attacks followed Russia’s drone strike a day earlier on a passenger train in the Kharkiv region, which killed at least five civilians.
“There were around 300 people on the train. Ukraine needs stronger air defense, uninterrupted military support, and real international pressure on Russia to protect lives and prevent new attacks.”
