New visa requirement from the United States
Ankara, January 28 (Hibya) — The United States (US) Embassy in Ankara issued a statement regarding a new regulation to be applied in visa application procedures.
The US Embassy in Ankara announced that individuals applying for a visa must change the privacy settings of their social media accounts to “public”.
The statement said: “As of December 15, 2025, in accordance with US laws, in order to facilitate the screening process that enables the determination of identity and eligibility for entry into the United States, all applicants for nonimmigrant visa categories F, M and J, as well as applicants for H-1B or H-4 visas, are required to change the privacy settings of all their social media accounts to public.”
