Zelensky: Power outages continue in the Kyiv region
Kyiv, January 28 (Hibya) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that serious power outages for consumers continue in the Kyiv region, while the number of buildings without heating in the city has been partially reduced.
President Zelensky stated that he held the daily coordination meeting and received reports on the consequences of Russian attacks and the ongoing repair work.
He noted that in the Kyiv region a Russian drone struck a residential building in Bilohorodka, killing two people. “A four-year-old child was rescued. Necessary assistance is being provided to those affected,” he said.
Zelensky said that serious power outages for consumers continue in the Kyiv region, while the number of buildings without heating in the city has been partially reduced, adding:
“As of today, more than 700 buildings in three districts of the capital are still without heating. Repair teams are working at maximum capacity. Teams from nearly the entire country have been dispatched to support the capital. However, in Kyiv, decision-making processes at the level of city administration need to be much faster.”
Pointing out that the situation in Kharkiv, the Sumy region, and Chernihiv was also addressed separately, Zelensky said: “In Zaporizhzhia, repair work continues after a Russian multiple-launch rocket attack on the city. The attack targeted a residential area; there were no military targets nearby. We will respond to these and similar attacks against Russia in a fair manner.”
