Russell: "About 1.3 million civilians are cornered"
United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Executive Director Catherine Russell reported that about 1.3 million civilians are living on the streets or in shelters.
In her statement, UNICEF Executive Director Russell said, "Rafah is one of the most densely populated places in the world, filled with children and families. Among them are children and families who have moved multiple times due to wars in Gaza."
Russell noted that about 1.3 million civilians are living on the streets or in shelters, stating, "About 1.3 million civilians are cornered, living on the streets or in shelters. We must protect them. They have no safe place to go."
