Ghebreyesus: Communities in Sudan facing severe food shortages
Geneva, July 11 (Hibya) – WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that communities in North Darfur and South Kordofan in Sudan are facing severe food shortages and have extremely limited access to basic services and healthcare.
Dr. Ghebreyesus noted that ongoing conflicts are making it extremely difficult for humanitarian teams to reach these areas.
“We call for an end to all hostilities and for safe humanitarian access to deliver food, water, and medical assistance. The best medicine is peace,” he said.
