The State of Qatar participated in the 27th GCC-European Union (EU) Joint Council and Ministerial Meeting held in Brussels, Belgium.

Delegations from GCC countries, officials from the GCC General Secretariat, and representatives of the European Union attended the meeting.

The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by Dr. Khalid bin Fahad Al Khater, Director of the Policy and Planning Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the talks, the latest developments in the Gulf region and Europe were discussed. Iran’s attacks against GCC countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates), maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, and the situations in Yemen, Iraq, and Lebanon were evaluated.

It was also reported that developments in the Gaza Strip, the two-state solution process, and issues related to Syria and Ukraine were discussed during the meeting.
