Qatar Confirms Support for UN Charter Special Committee Efforts
Doha, November 6 (Hibya) - The State of Qatar has confirmed its support for the efforts of the United Nations (UN) Charter Special Committee.
According to a statement from the State of Qatar, Qatar supports all efforts by the United Nations Charter Special Committee to strengthen and clarify international law and the provisions of the UN Charter, as well as to support the UN reform process, as outlined in Resolution 3499 of 1975, emphasizing the key roles of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the UN General Assembly.
This statement was delivered by the Third Secretary of Qatar’s Permanent Mission to the UN, Abdulaziz Fadala Mubarak Al Sulaiti, during the Sixth Committee of the 79th UN General Assembly concerning the UN Charter Special Committee’s report on the Role of the Organization at the UN headquarters in New York.
The State of Qatar emphasized the importance of reaching consensus on the Committee's annual report elements in this session, reaffirming its commitment to the principles and objectives of the Charter, and underscoring the UN's essential role in maintaining the current international order.
