Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, on the occasion of Freedom Day.

In his message, Putin said: "Relations between our countries are at a high level, as was fully confirmed during our joint efforts at the BRICS Summit held in Kazan last year. Russia and South Africa are actively cooperating in trade and economy, research and development, humanitarian fields, and many other sectors, while also coordinating on current issues of the regional and global agenda. I believe that we will continue to comprehensively develop the strategic partnership between Russia and South Africa, which fully aligns with the interests of our friendly peoples and contributes to the strengthening of international security and stability."
