Palestine: Demolition orders reflect Israel's systematic colonial policy
Ramallah, January 30 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the issuance of demolition orders reflects Israel's systematic colonial policy designed to escalate its open war against Palestinian presence.
According to the statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the village of Al-Nu’man is located 4.5 kilometers east of Bethlehem.
According to the Palestinian Committee for Resistance to the Wall and Settlements, Israeli occupation authorities issued 903 demolition notices for Palestinian structures in 2023, citing "lack of building permits."
«The orders were mainly concentrated in the Hebron, Jericho, and Jordan Valley governorates, as well as in the Bethlehem governorate. In 2024, occupation authorities carried out 684 demolition operations affecting 903 structures in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem. This resulted in the displacement or impact of 4,332 Palestinians, including 2,320 children».
The statement concluded: «The demolition of Palestinian homes and structures and the ongoing issuance of demolition orders reflect Israel's systematic colonial policy designed to escalate the war against Palestinian presence».
