Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met with New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF 2026) in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.

According to Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides conducted a comprehensive review of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in trade and investment, sports, and people-to-people exchanges.

The two ministers agreed that strengthening institutional ties, maintaining regular diplomatic contacts, and increasing high-level reciprocal visits are essential for advancing bilateral relations.

The meeting also covered regional and global developments. New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters commended Pakistan's constructive role during the recent tensions between the United States and Iran, welcoming Islamabad's efforts to promote dialogue, de-escalation, and regional peace.

Both sides agreed to remain in close contact to continue cooperation in areas of mutual interest and strengthen coordination on regional issues.
