Over 100 migrants attempting to cross the English Channel rescued
London, 26 December (Hibya) - Hundreds of migrants attempted to cross the English Channel in small boats on Christmas morning. Reports indicate that the Border Force vessel "Volunteer" brought 110 people from two boats to Dover port just before 5 a.m. today.
Several other boats making the dangerous journey from France were spotted on Wednesday morning, and more are expected to arrive throughout the day.
According to official government figures, the last time such boats made this journey was on 14 December, when approximately 160 people arrived on three boats.
According to a report by GB News, which shared footage of those arriving this morning, authorities on both sides of the Channel warned that over 2,000 migrants could make the crossing in the coming days as weather conditions improve.
