Prime Minister Meloni stated that what happened in Turin during the protest march against the eviction of the Askatasuna building was serious and unacceptable.

She pointed out that the legitimate eviction of an illegally occupied property was used as an excuse for violence, arson, Molotov cocktail attacks, and even attacks on police armored vehicles. "The images of the assaulted officer speak for themselves. These are not protesters, these are people acting like enemies of the state," said Meloni.

Meloni emphasized that those who paid the price were the law enforcement officers and many journalists who were attacked while performing their duties, adding: "I express my full solidarity with the victims of this blind and deliberate violence, including innocent citizens who suffered."

Meloni noted that the government has done its part by strengthening the tools to fight impunity and added:

"Now, it is very important that the judiciary also fully carries out its role to prevent the repetition of the leniency that led to the destruction of our cities and attacks on those who defended them. Defending legality is not a provocation, but a duty. The state does not retreat in the face of violence from fake revolutionaries accustomed to impunity and will always stand with those who wear uniforms, those who provide information, and those who respect the rules of civil coexistence."
