Meloni: Pietrangeli was a legend who elevated Italy’s name around the world
Rome, December 1 (Hibya) – Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni issued a message of condolence following the death of Italian tennis player Nicola Pietrangeli, who passed away at the age of 92.
Meloni stated that they lost a figure who left an indelible mark on sports history with his extraordinary talent and passion, adding: “Nicola Pietrangeli was the first Italian tennis player to win a Grand Slam, was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, inspired generations and was a legend who elevated Italy’s name across the world.”
Meloni offered her condolences to Pietrangeli’s family, to the many fans who supported him throughout his career, and to all who loved him.
