Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni congratulated Pope Leo on his birthday and drew attention to his message to young people.

Quoting the Pope's words, Meloni said, "'Let there not only be those who fan the flames of weariness and despair; let there also be those who rekindle dreams and visions.' This is a powerful call to action for all of us."

Referring to the challenges of the age and to hope, Meloni said, "In the face of the complex challenges of our time, it is easy to give in to weariness, resignation and the belief that problems are too great to be solved. Giving up is the easy path, but it is not the path that bears fruit."

Meloni concluded her message by saying, "Instead, each of us is called to neutralize the sense of resignation and to become a guardian and bearer of that active hope capable of rekindling dreams and turning visions into concrete action."
