Meloni: Employment reaches record high in Italy, permanent jobs on the rise
Rome, May 29 (Hibya) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that employment in the country has reached a historic level and that there has been a significant increase in permanent employment contracts, according to official data.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni made statements regarding the employment situation in the country based on data from the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT).
Meloni stated that 269,000 new jobs had been created in the country over the past year, describing it as a “historic record.” She noted that this represents the highest employment level ever recorded in Italy.
According to the data, the number of workers with permanent (open-ended) contracts increased by 143,000 during the same period, while the number of employees on fixed-term contracts declined by 64,000.
Highlighting the increase in permanent employment, Meloni stressed that this development is important for job security. Referring to the opposition, she argued that the government's policies aimed at reducing job insecurity are producing results.
