Kallas: Words of condemnation alone cannot stop the attacks on Kyiv
Brussels, July 2 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said that words of condemnation alone cannot stop the attacks on Kyiv.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas commented on the financial support provided to Ukraine in response to Russia's attacks, new sanctions plans, and the situation of EU personnel on the ground.
Referring to the financial assistance provided to Ukraine, Kallas said, "This week, the EU began disbursing 6 billion euros under a 90-billion-euro support loan to strengthen Kyiv's defense."
Announcing that she would propose new measures targeting Russia's military-industrial sector, Kallas stated, "Today, I will propose imposing sanctions on more entities supporting Russia's military-industrial complex in response to the attacks. The more Moscow attacks civilians, the more sanctions should be imposed."
Emphasizing the determination to maintain economic and military pressure on Russia, Kallas said, "We will continue to increase the cost until Russia realizes it cannot win."
Thanking EU staff serving in the region, Kallas concluded, "EU personnel in Kyiv are being accounted for. I am deeply grateful to our colleagues on the ground who continue to work with courage and dedication under the most difficult conditions."
