Kallas: Stronger EU-Ethiopia relations are in our common interest
Addis Ababa, July 15 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said Ethiopia is an important partner for the EU and that both sides aim to strengthen cooperation in the fields of security, the economy, and investment.
Kallas stated that she met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos in Addis Ababa.
She said the meeting covered the war in Sudan, the threat posed by Al-Shabaab in Somalia, Iran's attacks against its neighbors, as well as Russia's war against Ukraine and its impact beyond Europe. “Stronger relations between the EU and Ethiopia are in our common interest,” Kallas said.
Kallas added, “Our relationship is delivering tangible results. We are committed to greater cooperation, more business opportunities, and increased investment.”
