Kallas: Settlements in the West Bank are illegal
Brussels, September 8 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas announced her support for trade sanctions by the United Kingdom and 11 countries targeting illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said that the United Kingdom and 11 countries support trade sanctions targeting illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
Kallas stated that all EU member states agree that Israeli settlements in the West Bank are illegal under international law.
Kallas said that the expansion of settlements in the West Bank undermines the prospects for a viable two-state solution, noting that the EU remains the largest donor of humanitarian aid to Gaza and the West Bank.
Kallas stated that the EU continues to support the achievement of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on two states living side by side within secure and recognized borders.
