Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Hamas movement had not been broken despite Israel’s attacks yesterday.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said he believed that the attack on soldiers at the Rafah border crossing was orchestrated not by Hamas insurgents, but by the movement’s leadership.

The strikes began in southern Gaza after the Israeli army reported that “terrorists fired anti-tank missiles and gunfire at its soldiers in Rafah, killing two.”

Hamas said it was “unaware” of any clashes in the Israeli-controlled area.

In the evening, Israel announced it had struck Hamas targets in Gaza, with hospital sources reporting 44 deaths.

Hamas declared that it remained committed to the ceasefire but accused Israel of violations and warned that the attacks could “lead to a total collapse of the situation.”
