In his message marking the anniversary of the Normandy Landings (D-Day), United States Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth highlighted the sacrifice made by Allied forces to save the world.

Recalling the historic struggle of Allied soldiers, Hegseth said, “Exactly 82 years ago today, freedom stood on the brink of extinction, and Allied forces charged into hell to save the world.”

Secretary Hegseth emphasized that they would honor the legacy of those who lost their lives and those who fought in the military operation, concluding his message with the words: “We will never forget the courage, sacrifice, and blood shed on that fateful day.”
