Ghebreyesus: WHO is preparing to send 20 tons of medical supplies to the town of Tawila
Geneva, November 18 (Hibya) – WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that the organization is preparing to send 20 tons of medical supplies to the town of Tawila.
WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated: “From our logistics base in South Darfur, WHO is preparing to send 20 tons of medical supplies to the town of Tawila, where thousands of people fleeing months of violence in El Fasher have taken refuge.”
He added that the official authorization process for shipping the medical supplies — which will be used to prevent and treat cholera, perform emergency surgeries, provide urgent nutritional support to children suffering from severe acute malnutrition, and treat other diseases — is still ongoing.
