Ghebreyesus: The government is building strong, multi-partner foundations for response
The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, announced that Mike Ryan, the Executive Director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme, has traveled to Uganda to strengthen government support in response to the Sudan Ebola virus.
Ghebreyesus stated that Ryan met with the Minister of Health and the Strategic Advisory Group to review epidemic control measures.
He added that Ryan also held a meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator and NGO partners to ensure continuous support for government efforts.
"The government is building strong, multi-partner foundations for response, including surveillance, clinical management, community engagement, vaccination, and research," said Ghebreyesus.
