Ghebreyesus: Conflicts in Syria's interior regions affect people's health
Brussels, March 9 (Hibya) - World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that conflicts in Syria's interior regions directly impact people's health.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized that conflicts in Syria's coastal and interior regions are highly concerning, as damage to healthcare facilities and ambulances directly affects people's health.
Ghebreyesus noted that WHO is working to send emergency medicines and trauma supplies to provide urgent care for the wounded. "WHO calls on all parties to respect and protect healthcare services, ensuring that medical aid reaches those who need it most. Peace is the best medicine," he said.
