Fletcher: Angola is battling the worst cholera outbreak in 20 years
New York, May 10 (Hibya) – UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher announced that Angola is battling the worst cholera outbreak in the past 20 years.
Fletcher stated that Angola is facing the most severe cholera outbreak in two decades.
He added that $1.8 million has been released from UNCERF to strengthen healthcare, clean water, and sanitation support in the hardest-hit areas, saying: "We must stop the spread and save lives."
