EU Commission President von der Leyen’s meetings in Portoroz
Portoroz, October 20 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen traveled to Portoroz, Slovenia, to attend the MED9 Summit.
Von der Leyen stated that she was in Portoroz, Slovenia, for the MED9 Summit.
She emphasized that a prosperous and stable Mediterranean is vital for Europe’s security and competitiveness. “This is what our Mediterranean Pact is about: simplifying work, opening the path for investment, and bringing people together,” she said.
Von der Leyen thanked Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob for the productive meeting held within the scope of the MED9 Summit.
She noted that they discussed ongoing efforts to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness: “Reducing energy costs and increasing the use of artificial intelligence. We also agreed that the geopolitical rationale for EU enlargement is stronger than ever.”
