UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said she was pleased to meet with Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi, stressing that the United Kingdom and Oman share a close and longstanding partnership.

Outlining the main topics of the meeting, Cooper said: "We discussed efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, support for mine clearance operations, and strengthening stability and security in the region."

Highlighting the deep historical ties between the two countries, Cooper stated: "It was a pleasure to meet Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi yesterday. The United Kingdom and Oman share a close and longstanding partnership."
