Carney: Last year, Canada signed a free trade agreement with Indonesia
Ottawa, June 6 (Hibya) - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that the free trade agreement signed with Indonesia will strengthen trade relations between the two countries and significantly reduce customs duties, adding that they have decided to accelerate negotiations for a Canada-ASEAN free trade agreement.

Highlighting the historic significance and economic benefits of the agreement signed last year, Carney said, “Last year, Canada signed a free trade agreement with Indonesia; this is our first agreement with an ASEAN country. The agreement is expected to eliminate or reduce tariffs on 95 percent of Canadian exports to Indonesia, a country with a population of more than 280 million.”
