During the 70th edition of the contest this year, Israel’s participation caused reactions from some countries. Spain, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Iceland, and Ireland boycotted the event in protest against Israel’s participation.
Israeli singer Noam Bettan, who performed third in the final, was protested by some audience members waving Palestinian flags. Spectators were seen waving Palestinian flags during the artist’s performance.
