Belgium: No one can win a nuclear war
Brussels, 6 February (Hibya) – The Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the expiration of the New START Treaty between the United States of America (USA) and Russia.
The statement noted that the expiration of the New START Treaty marks the end of more than 50 years of efforts to limit nuclear weapons and makes the world more vulnerable to nuclear proliferation.
In a world marked by treaty violations and nuclear stockpiling, the statement emphasized the need to find new ways to re-establish arms control and stressed that no one can win a nuclear war.
