Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Lawyer Sergen stated that the use of AI and deepfake technology is not a crime in itself, but actions committed through these tools may lead to serious penalties under the Turkish Penal Code.

He emphasized that although the term “deepfake” does not appear in the Penal Code, acts carried out using deepfake are clearly criminal.

Sergen noted that if a person’s honor, private life, personal data or property is targeted, deepfake content directly falls within the scope of criminal law.

He added that deepfake content has become a tool for crimes such as insult, violation of privacy, unlawful use of personal data, blackmail, slander and fraud.
