Australia hosted the Royal Family of Tonga on an official visit
Canberra, September 19 (Hibya) – Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong issued a statement regarding the first official visit of the Royal Family of Tonga to Australia.
Minister Wong expressed it was an honor to host King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u of Tonga in Australia.
She emphasized that relations between the two countries have been based on cultural and personal ties for more than 200 years, noting that this visit would further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Australia and Tonga.
During the visit, diplomatic and regional issues between the two countries are expected to be discussed.
