A cow in England gave birth to four calves in a 'one in 11 million' rare birth
London, 24 October (Hibya) - A dairy cow on a farm in England gave birth to four calves in a 'one in 11 million' rare occurrence.
According to the BBC, farm staff described the cow that gave birth to the quadruplet calves as "unheard of".
Farm veterinarian Matthew Hicks stated: "This is a once in a career experience, perhaps a once in a lifetime event."
"I was at the pub, and normally I see double when I come home, but that night I certainly hadn’t drunk enough," he joked.
The chance of quadruplet pregnancies in cattle is said to be one in 700,000, and the chance of all calves being born alive is one in 11 million.
It was reported that the mother and the four calves are in good health.
