Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a statement on the anniversary of the fall of the Assad regime.

Zelensky said, “On this day last year, the Assad regime fell. It was a bright day for Syria, the Middle East, and the whole world — a day filled with justice, freedom, and hope.”

Zelensky emphasized that the most important thing was giving the Syrian people the opportunity for a normal and safe life, adding: “The most important thing is that the Syrian people were given the chance to live a normal and secure life. We were there immediately, offering our help. We are ready to continue our support.”

Congratulating Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and the Syrian people on the anniversary, Zelensky said: “I wish you security, stability, and prosperity in the years ahead.”
