Zelensky discusses Russia’s attacks with UN Secretary-General Guterres
Kyiv, August 21 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The discussion covered Russia’s attacks on Ukraine, civilian casualties, food security and the negotiation process.

Zelensky informed Guterres about Russia’s ongoing attacks against Ukraine and civilian casualties. Guterres was reported to have condemned the intense Russian attacks targeting Kyiv and other cities and regions of Ukraine.
The conversation also addressed the impact of Russia’s attacks on port infrastructure and vessels on food security. Zelensky stated that the attacks were being felt in many countries across Africa, the Middle East and Asia, and that food prices had begun to rise.
Zelensky said that everything possible should be done to end the war despite Russia’s rejection of proposals to sit at the negotiating table.
It was reported that the sides agreed to continue seeking solutions and involve the United Nations in joint efforts.
