Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement regarding the presence of Ukrainian military experts in the Middle East and Gulf region and defense cooperation.

Providing information on personnel in the region, Zelensky said: "Currently, there are 201 Ukrainians in the Middle East and Gulf region. Another 34 are ready to be deployed. These are military experts who know how to help and how to defend against 'Shahed' drones. Our teams are already in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and are on their way to Kuwait."

Stating that the experts were sent at the request of partners, Zelensky said: "We do not want the Iranian regime’s terror against its neighbors to succeed. I sent these military experts at the request of our partners, including the United States. In fact, this is part of the drone agreement we proposed to the United States and are still negotiating."

Referring to future defense strategies, Zelensky added: "We are ready to offer similar agreements to all our reliable partners — from practical cooperation on drones to future defense alliances. And I think no one would want to exclude Ukraine’s war-proven strength and capabilities from their own security. If someone does, it would not be wise. The United Kingdom clearly sees these opportunities; our agreements are always solid."
