Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs David van Weel made a statement regarding the hostage situation in Israel and Gaza, as well as the humanitarian situation in the region.

Sharing the information that the last hostage has been found, Van Weel said: “I am relieved that the body of the last Israeli hostage, Ran Gvili, has finally been found.”

Van Weel added: “After 843 days of uncertainty, this moment marks the return of all 251 hostages. I hope this will bring some peace to his family and to the people of Israel.”

Expressing his demands regarding regional peace and humanitarian aid, Van Weel said: “It is important to continue our efforts toward lasting peace in the region. The full implementation of the Gaza peace plan is essential. In this context, we demand the rapid opening of the Rafah border crossing.”
