Von der Leyen: New opportunities in EU–UAE relations
Evian, 16 June (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met with United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Evian, France.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the G7 Summit meeting was positive, stressing the importance of deepening the partnership between the European Union and Gulf countries.
She noted that regional developments were assessed in light of the US–Iran agreement, and emphasized that Iran must stop its attacks against its neighbors.
Von der Leyen stated that there are many opportunities in EU–UAE relations, from trade to security cooperation, and that progress in these areas will be discussed at the next EU–GCC Summit.
