Some major currencies gained against the US dollar in foreign exchange markets, while USD/TRY traded at around 49.21.

The euro/dollar exchange rate rose by 0.10 percent to 1.1207. The dollar/yen rate increased by 0.10 percent to 158.22, while the euro/yen rate climbed by 0.19 percent to 177.31.

The pound/dollar exchange rate fell by 0.09 percent to 1.3209. The Australian dollar/US dollar rate declined by 0.09 percent to 0.6956, while the New Zealand dollar/US dollar rate dropped by 0.21 percent to 0.5602.

USD/TRY at 49.21

USD/TRY stood at 49.2125, up 0.05 percent. During the day, the exchange rate fluctuated between 49.1935 and 49.2213.

The dollar/Swiss franc exchange rate slipped by 0.02 percent to 0.8329, while the dollar/Canadian dollar rate rose by 0.05 percent to 1.4261.

The euro/pound exchange rate also increased by 0.15 percent to 0.8483.
