U.S. stock markets closed the day lower
Istanbul, June 24 (Hibya) - Selling pressure dominated U.S. equity markets. Major indexes, led by technology stocks, ended the day with losses.
U.S. stock markets posted a negative performance in trading on June 23.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), which tracks industrial stocks, fell 0.09 percent to 51,666.84 points. The broad-based S&P 500 Index lost 1.44 percent and closed at 7,365.46 points.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index declined 2.21 percent to 25,587.04 points, while the Nasdaq 100 Index, which includes major technology companies, dropped 3.29 percent to 29,347.27 points.
The Russell 2000 Index, reflecting the performance of small-cap companies, also ended the day down 0.96 percent at 2,975.48 points.
