New York, November 7 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) stated that after two years of war, one in five children in the Gaza Strip has missed their basic vaccinations.
In a statement, UNRWA reported that one in five children in Gaza had not received their essential vaccines after two years of war.
The World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), together with their partners, have launched a catch-up vaccination campaign to deliver life-saving vaccines and malnutrition screening to 44,000 children.
The agency emphasized that through its 24 health centers and medical points in the Gaza Strip, it will support this vital effort to restore essential healthcare for children in Gaza.
