Ukraine says Russia continues to reject peace proposals
Kyiv, October 20 (Hibya) - Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it is working with the United States and European partners to achieve a just and lasting peace, while Russia continues to reject proposals aimed at reducing attacks and ending the war.
Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war. The ministry said Ukraine is working with the United States and its European partners to achieve a just and lasting peace, while Russia has not accepted proposals to reduce attacks and bring the war to an end.
The statement noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had once again reaffirmed Ukraine's readiness for a ceasefire in the energy sector and outlined additional steps toward peace. These steps also included a possible trilateral meeting at the leaders' level to address key issues.
Emphasizing that Ukraine remains ready to work for peace, the ministry stated that the next step is for Russia to demonstrate the same willingness.
