The ministry stated that following the serious and unprecedented violation of NATO airspace, the Russian Ambassador was summoned.

It was noted that last week Russian drones seriously and unprecedentedly violated the airspace of Poland and NATO, and then on Saturday carried out a new attack on Romanian airspace, which is absolutely unacceptable.

“The United Kingdom, together with Poland, Romania, Ukraine and our NATO Allies, unconditionally condemns these reckless actions. As our continent once again faces the appalling extent of Russia’s reckless behavior, defending Ukraine against Putin’s aggression is vital to the security of all of Europe, including the UK.”

The statement also stressed that NATO forces’ response shows how seriously the Alliance takes Russia’s actions: “As the Secretary General stated on Friday, together with our NATO Allies we are strengthening our defenses on the eastern flank by using new technologies such as counter-drone sensors and weapons.”
