Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said Russia has continued its attacks on Ukrainian cities and regions since the weekend and that the strikes have caused numerous casualties.

Tsahkna said educational institutions were also targeted in the attacks, noting that two kindergartens and two schools in Kyiv, a sports school in Dnipro, as well as residential buildings and other elements of civilian infrastructure were hit.

Tsahkna said Russia had also targeted the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in central Kyiv, adding: “What we learn today shapes the world we will build tomorrow. Putin knows this.”

Tsahkna argued that targeting schools, universities and research institutions aims to undermine Ukraine’s education system and deprive Ukrainians of the knowledge, skills and resources needed to build a resilient and democratic future.

Tsahkna said the international community should increase pressure on Russia until justice and full accountability are ensured for the crimes committed, adding that support for Ukraine would continue.
