Tsahkna: 274 Ukrainian civilians were killed by Russia in May
Tallinn, June 13 (Hibya) - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna commented on the war in Ukraine and civilian casualties, calling on the international community to take a firmer stance against Russia's actions.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna drew attention to the devastating impact of Russia's attacks on Ukraine's civilian population, stressing that impunity paves the way for further crimes.
Referring to the humanitarian tragedy while sharing May's figures, Tsahkna said: "In May, 274 Ukrainian civilians were killed by Russia. This means the deliberate killing of at least 274 innocent people and irreparable harm to 274 families. Human beings cannot be treated as expendable or as collateral damage."
Emphasizing the need for justice, Tsahkna stated: "Russia must be held fully accountable for every life lost, every family shattered, and every future stolen throughout more than four years of its full-scale aggression. Allowing impunity is complicity."
