Third round of political consultations held between Qatar and Mexico
Mexico City, October 2 (Hibya) - The third round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Qatar and Mexico was held in Mexico City, where bilateral relations, trade, investment and mediation were discussed.
According to a statement from the Qatari Foreign Ministry, the third round of political consultations between Qatar and Mexico was held in Mexico City.
The Qatari delegation was headed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, while the Mexican delegation was led by Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Roberto Velasco Alvarez.
The talks addressed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries, particularly in the areas of trade and investment. Programs carried out as part of the Qatar-Mexico 2026 Year of Culture were also reviewed.
The parties exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and also discussed continuing the mediation dialogue between Qatar and Mexico. Cooperation with Switzerland and Norway on preventive diplomacy, mediation and the peaceful settlement of disputes was also reviewed.
At the end of the consultations, Qatar and Mexico signed an agreement to waive visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official and special passports. The parties also signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of diplomatic training and education.
