The Netherlands conducts anti-submarine exercise in the Baltic Sea
Amsterdam, 17 November (Hibya) – Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced that the Royal Navy frigate Zr. Ms. Van Amstel is conducting operational training against Russian submarines in the Baltic Sea.
Minister Brekelmans emphasized that conditions in the region are extremely challenging, stating: “The Baltic Sea, due to its shallow waters, salinity levels and significant temperature variations, creates a complex operational environment.”
He noted that the exercises are carried out jointly with NATO allies, which helps enhance their anti-submarine capabilities.
Brekelmans concluded his statement by saying, “By working together with our allies, we strengthen both our skills and our security.”
