Tajani issues condolence message for Livio Berruti
Rome, August 9 (Hibya) - Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani issued a message of condolence following the death of Olympic champion athlete Livio Berruti.
Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, in a statement following the death of athlete Livio Berruti, recalled the athlete's historic achievements and extended his condolences to his family and loved ones.
Referring to Berruti's historic role in sport and his influence on his generation, Tajani said, "We bid farewell to Livio Berruti, the 200-meter champion at the 1960 Rome Olympics. He was the first European sprinter to win this event. A legend for my generation."
Expressing his condolences, Tajani concluded his statement with the words, "My condolences to his wife Silvia and his entire family. May he rest in peace."
