Szijjarto: Hungary rejects the proposal for military presence in Ukraine
Budapest, 7 January (Hibya) - Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Szijjarto, announced that they reject initiatives that could drag Europe into direct conflict with Russia.
Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said, “Yesterday in Paris, the Volunteer Coalition presented a new proposal that brings Europe closer to direct conflict with Russia. Western European countries’ efforts to establish a military presence in Ukraine increase the risk of direct war with Russia.”
Szijjarto added, “Hungary will stay away from this process. We support peace negotiations, including the highest-level negotiations between the U.S. and Russia, and we firmly reject this last military initiative.”
