Sybiha meets UAE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nusseibeh
Brussels, January 7 (Hibya) – Ukraine Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with Lana Nusseibeh, the United Arab Emirates’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Sybiha met with the UAE’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Lana Nusseibeh, as part of events celebrating the start of Cyprus’s EU Council presidency.
Noting strong momentum in bilateral relations after the signing of the Ukraine–UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, Sybiha said, “I express my gratitude for the UAE’s continued support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, its mediation on the release and exchange of our people, its humanitarian aid, and its support for First Lady Olena Zelenska’s initiatives.”
Sybiha described the battlefield situation and Russia’s attacks along the frontlines to Nusseibeh, stating: “These attacks result in very heavy tolls, with more than 30,000 lives lost per month.”
Sybiha also conveyed that their talks covered how the UAE could assist Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which has been hit by Russian attacks, adding, “I shared information about recent peace efforts, especially the outcomes of the Paris meeting and Ukraine’s perspective on steps toward lasting peace.”
